How far in advance do we need to book your services?

Accepted Answer

I recommend booking 6 months to 1 year in advance, or as soon as you know you want live music. For events scheduled from October to December, musicians are often in high demand due to holiday events, so it’s wise to secure your booking as early as possible during those months.

How do I know if I need the music amplified?

Accepted Answer

1) In settings with lots of carpet and fabric, or if your event is outdoors, you might notice that sound projection can be more challenging.

2) For events with over 100 guests, we recommend using amplification to help balance the sound, especially in conversational areas like cocktail hour and dinner.

Do you provide your own sound equipment?

I have my own setup for amplification and backing tracks. This is included in solo and duo bookings. For trio and quartet bookings, sound is $125 per setup location. Some clients want to have us plug into the DJ's setup. Not all DJ's are comfortable with this and will likely charge extra.

Can you provide an officiant mic?

Yes! I can provide a clip on wireless lavaliere mic, including audio setup.  I will need to meet with your officiant prior to the start of pre-ceremony music for a sound check.

What types of music do you offer for weddings and events?

I offer a wide variety of options. My most popular selections come from Classical, Bridgerton, Pop, Country, Bollywood, RnB, and Jazz styles, Disney, Film and Theater.

What size space do you need to perform?

On average 3' x 4' per musician. String players have a lot of side to side movement, so it's best to not have us near walkways and entrances. If you can swing your arms around without hitting anyone or anything, you are on the right track.

I have a diverse selection of songs to choose from, and each client receives a planning guide to help organize song choices and music details.

What is your style?

I am a classically trained violinist and have spent over two decades learning pop, jazz, bollywood & bluegrass styles. Because I am also a singer, I like to play the songs how I would sing them. I think this makes the music more recognizable and authentic.

If you have a specific song in mind that’s not on my list, please don’t hesitate to reach out to discuss your options. Sometimes there is an additional fee depending on the song. Availability for special requests depends on how long we have to prepare the music.

I have played for many different religions and cultures. I would be honored to put something together that honors your individual cultures and traditions.

I also love a good themed wedding! From Harry Potter & Lord of the Rings to Bridgerton and Garden Party, I will do my best to help you find music that suits your occasion.

Can you play for first dances?

I love to! I can do this one of two ways. I can play the melody to a backing track (similar to karaoke), or if you prefer to hear the words, I can play with the original recording and play harmonies with the melody.

Definitely! My setup is perfect for low key and intimate receptions. I can play first dances and create a set list that matches the tone you'd like to set for the evening.

How do you coordinate with other vendors (e.g., wedding planners, DJs)?

About 2 weeks to a month before your event, I will be in touch with your planner and venue to make sure they have everything they need from me. I will also confirm things like timeline, setup, parking & load in directions, etc. If I am working with your DJ on something like first dance serenades, I will also be in touch with them to coordinate those details.

How do you handle changes to the schedule on the wedding day?

We prioritize flexibility and understanding when it comes to your unique circumstances. By booking musicians for both the ceremony and cocktail hour, you can enjoy some leeway with your ceremony timing. If you decide you want musicians to stay longer than the contracted time, please be prepared to settle any additional time at that moment with cash or an electronic payment method such as Venmo, Zelle, or PayPal.

Can you perform in outdoor locations, and are there any restrictions?

Shade: To ensure optimal performance, our music equipment need to be in a shaded spot. If your venue doesn't have a shaded spot, I have a cabana available to rent. You may also consider checking with your venue or a tent company for additional options.

Rain Plans: 
If you have purchased an Audio Package, we kindly ask that you decide on a rain plan at least one hour before the event music is set to begin. This will allow ample time for proper setup to ensure quality sound.

If you have NOT purchased an Audio Package, we kindly ask that you decide on a rain plan at least 20 minutes before the start of event music.

Are there any considerations that might result in unexpected costs?

Accepted Answer

Travel: For bookings 4+ hours away and/or occur later in the evening, you may need to provide hotel room(s) for the musicians.

Meals: If you require the musicians for longer than 4 hours, a vendor meal is appropriate and greatly appreciated.

Seating: Make sure to include armless chairs for each musician (for each setup location) in your chair count. If you need the chairs to be moved from one location to the next, make sure there is someone there to assist the musicians for a smooth transition.

Audio Enginner / Assitant: If your setup needs are more intricate, we may need to include an assistant or audio engineer to ensure things run smoothly.

Do the Musicians require breaks?

For events where musicians perform for two or more consecutive hours, paid breaks will be necessary. Typically, musicians play 45-60 minute sets followed by 10-15 minute breaks.

If you have an audio package booked, we can provide a playlist during these breaks. Breaks can be scheduled to align with your event activities, such as speeches or toasts.
